Featured Speaker for the University of Florida’s Series on “Fairness and Equity in AI for Education”

The College of Education’s Virtual Learning Lab at the University of Florida has just published its series of videos and podcasts addressing the theme of “fairness and equity in AI for education.”

I used this opportunity to discuss giving students voice in applications of AI. In addition to myself, the series features the following speakers and their topics:

  • Alan Rubel – The dangers of offloading decisions to AI
  • Beverly Woolf – Including diversity in AI
  • Rene Kizilcec – Scalable AI to broaden participation
  • Michael Madaio – Social and technical solutions to fairness in

The videos and podcasts versions are available at the Virtual Learning Lab’s website. But you can also find the podcasts on Google podcasts, Spotify, and a few other podcast platforms.

I thank Professor Walter Leite and his talented team of media producers and assistants for including me in their series.
